LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Club 129 and State Bank are teaming up to help people become more knowledgeable about their finances.

Club 129 and State Bank launch Financial Health Series in Lima

The series is designed to help people make more sense of their money, beginning with creating a budget by comparing income to monthly expenses.

Saturday marked the first session of their Financial Health Series, covering the basics of budgeting and saving. The series is designed to help people make more sense of their money, beginning with creating a budget by comparing income to monthly expenses. Once a budget is in place, participants can start working on financial goals they want to achieve.

“Sometimes it is just writing it down, looking at your goal. You set a goal at that first of the month and at the end of the month did we get that achieved? Just putting things in perspective, putting things where they need to be, as far as what is the most important thing. Do I need to pay and how can I help myself get things paid for. Is there assistance out there for that, maybe, I'm not sure. So, this kind of opens the door for us to assist people,” said Tami Trenkamp, community development officer at State Bank & Trust.

The next session of the Financial Health Series will be held May 31st at the Lima Public Library. The topic will be Understanding and Repairing Your Credit. For more information about the event, visit the Club 129 Facebook page.
