The Lima affiliate of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice is hosting a free financial literacy workshop for students in grades 8 through 12. The event aims to teach essential money management skills and help teens prepare for future financial decisions.

The sessions will cover budgeting, credit and the home loan process, with lenders available to answer questions.
Year after year, Americans tend to make the same financial resolutions.
“I don’t think you realize how much money you’re going to spend each month until you’re the one actually spending it. So I think that it gives them a greater appreciation for their parents, their guardians, caretakers, but then I also think it’s preparing them for the next step after they graduate high school,” said Kelsey Joseph, director of marketing for Superior Credit Union.

Club 129 and State Bank are teaming up to help people become more knowledgeable about their finances.
Mercy Health – Saint Rita’s has partnered with State Bank to present a three-part series aimed at helping individuals better understand and manage their money. The free workshops, open to the public, will cover topics such as budgeting, savings, and credit repair.
The program covers a range of topics, including fixing credit, improving personal finances, and creating effective budgets. There are no eligibility criteria, making it accessible to everyone in the community.
