LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima City Schools hosted a hiring fair Tuesday afternoon to help fill various job openings.
The event allowed for people to meet with district representatives, learn about job opportunities, conduct background checks, and interview for positions. Computers were provided at the event for people to apply for available positions.
The district is looking for candidates for 25 different positions, including paraprofessionals, teachers, and coaches.
Superintendent Andre Rudolph said that hiring fairs help streamline the hiring process and allows for direct communication between applicants and representatives.
"What I've learned over my experience in human capital management is people typically like a quick response. Time goes by and people have to provide, and so they want to know quickly if they have a job, what they'll be making, and what they'll be doing. This provides an opportunity for us to streamline that process and make it happen rather quickly," said Rudolph.
Those at the fair said that it helped out significantly in the hiring process, and that the representatives present at the event were kind and open to answering questions.
"Everyone was super kind. They brought me to table that I needed to to be at and were very friendly. I was able to ask all the questions I needed and have them answered kindly. It was just an overall great experience," said Johanna Szeremeta, a recently hired paraprofessional at Lima West Middle School.
Those wanting to learn more can go to limacityschools.org and go to the human resources page to browse and apply for open positions.
