CRIDERSVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) — It was a packed house at the Cridersville branch of the Auglaize County Library Monday morning as members of the Lima Symphony Orchestra made a special visit.

There was reading, marching, and music as the Symphony presented its Story Time Outreach Program to introduce youngsters to instruments they may see in an orchestra. A string quartet played several patriotic songs in honor of the country’s 250th birthday while children marched along, enjoying what may have been their first experience with symphonic music.

Story time turns musical as Lima Symphony visits Cridersville branch

Sarah Schaefer, LSO Education Coordinator & Office Manager, said, "Lima Symphony Orchestra is such a great resource in Lima. Not everyone can always make it to the concert hall. And these performances are designed especially to be engaging for kids, free and open to the public. And they bring music in sort of a fun way to as many people as we can."

The Symphony will continue its Story Time Outreach Program Tuesday, June 23, at the Waynesfield branch of the Auglaize County Library at 10:45 a.m., followed by a stop at the Delphos Public Library at 2 p.m.
