LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A local service organization is marking a major milestone and inviting past members to celebrate with them.
The Lima Noon Optimist Club is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and will welcome former members back for a reunion during its December 3 meeting. Club leaders say the gathering is also a chance for anyone interested in joining a service organization to learn more about their work supporting local youth.

“We've just had such great support over the past 75 years from our members. And we do the Home Show every year, and that's a pretty big deal in the community. We do the Toys for Tots program. We have Safety City, we have the Youth Orchestra, we have little league baseball, Striders Track Club. We do a lot of stuff in the community, and it's our members that do the leg work and do all the support work, and we just want to see them again,” says Tim Willoughby, Lima Noon Optimist Club.
The reunion will be held December 3 at 11:30 a.m. at Lima’s American Legion Post 96 on South Shore Drive.
