January 24, 2025, Press Release from Lima City Schools: Lima Senior High School Junior Yarah Al-Hisah's drawing "I Am Content" has been selected to be a "Best of Show" American Visions nominee for the Scholastic Art Show in Ft. Wayne.
Out of over 2,000, pieces she was chosen to be in the top 5. Her artwork will now be judged on the national level for the chance of going to New York and being selected as the American Visions Medalist for the region.
Yarah had three pieces accepted into the Scholastic Art Awards of Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio, two earning Gold Keys – the highest honor. Her work will be on display at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art (311 E Main St, Fort Wayne, IN 46802) from Feb. 8 to April 6.
