LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Salvation Army in Lima has officially opened online registration for its December Christmas Assistance program, continuing an option launched last year to streamline the application process.
By signing up online, applicants can avoid the in-person registration process. To complete the application, individuals must upload a photo ID, original birth certificates for everyone in the household, and a recent utility bill. Organizers say the online option is becoming increasingly popular.
“They are actually growing,” said Paul Downing, operations manager of the Lima Salvation Army. “So it's really great that people are coming online and doing that. If you need any help at all, please call the Salvation Army. We can help you and walk you through your application process, but it's pretty much just uploading all the information that is normally required during the season.”
For those who prefer to register in person, sign-up dates are scheduled for Monday, October 6, and Tuesday, October 7, at the Lima Salvation Army on East Market Street.
