LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Summer may be rapidly passing, but children in Lima are still making the most of it.
The Lima Parks Playground Program took a field trip to Edgewood Skate Arena for an afternoon full of fun. Kids were eager to lace up their skates and hit the hardwood floor to show off their moves. Even for those who had never skated before, program advisors were there to lend a hand and help them gain confidence as they learned. Throughout the summer, the children have participated in a variety of trips, activities, and games.
"I think this one is the best one, unless there's a few upcoming field trips coming up this week. It's actually so much fun. I have met a lot of new people. I never knew them before, but now, like, I can talk to them as friends," said Kemani Grant, a program participant.
The Summer Park Program has a couple more field trips scheduled for this week. The last day of the program will be Friday, August 1.
