A fundraiser for the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is hitting a milestone.
It's the 20th annual Chicken BBQ Dinner at Marimor School. For two decades the sale of these meals has supported many projects for the school and the clients the board serves. This year is no different as money raised will go toward a project that will benefit many people in the Lima-Allen County area.
"Since 2017, we've been discussing an all ability playground at Marimor School. Our playgrounds at the school are in very much disrepair. We also have the Allen County ESC children that have joined us so we're going to have a capital campaign that will involve one large playground that will be at the front of the building connected to the Ottawa Metro Park for the entire community to use," said Theresa Schnipke, Superintendent.
The dinner will be Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with drive-thru service at Marimor School located at 2550 Ada Rd, Lima, OH 45801. A $9 donation is asked for a meal of Harlan's BBQ chicken, baked potato, green beans, roll, and a cookie.
