The Red Pig Inn was reopened in 2022 by Anissa and Nathan Musil in an effort to bring the restaurant back to its glory days. He is calling it a "Trifecta of Republican Politics" that will be highlighting the Allen County Republican Party barbecue. Allen County Republican chair Keith Cheney announced Thursday that Florida Governor Ron Desantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and United States Senate candidate Bernie Moreno will be the speakers at the barbecue rally. Both Desantis and Ramaswamy dropped out of the presidential race early to support Trump, and Cheney says it's fortunate that we could get all three of them to attend.
This year's keynote speech will be given by U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. Graham spoke at the Allen County Republican's last rally in 2019. US Congressman Jim Jordan will also be speaking at the event to show his support for US Senate candidate J.D. Vance. Due to the pandemic, the Allen County Republican Party has not held this rally in a couple of years, and Party Chairman Keith Cheney is thankful to have the BBQ Rally back.
Wednesday, Mercy Health Saint Rita’s held a cookout for all their staff as a thank you for all they have done and pushed through during COVID-19. It was also a celebration for National Hospital Week. It was a time that associates could get out of the building to grab a quick bite, relax, and just take a breath.
The free curbside pickup meals were made with donations given to the fire department from several local businesses. As the Pulled pork dinners were handed out, most people handed back money to donate. The donations will be split up between Bless a Bulldog and the Lord’s Pantry.
