WAPAKONETA, OH —The Armstrong Air & Space Museum will be hosting its annual fundraiser, Horizons, on Saturday, March 15, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The event will raise funds to expand STEM programming efforts, providing educational opportunities to underprivileged clubs, schools, and communities.

This year’s featured speaker is Greg Brown, Armstrong Air & Space Museum historian, who will provide an in-depth presentation on the life of Neil Armstrong and his historic Gemini VIII mission. Attendees will learn more about one of the most pivotal moments in Armstrong’s career and the near fatal in-flight emergency that was averted thanks to Armstrong’s quick thinking.

“When looking at how we could better serve the community, we noticed a significant need in providing opportunities for schools and organizations that might not be able to access quality STEM programs,” says Dante Centuori, Armstrong Air & Space Museum executive director. “This Horizons event allows us to raise funding to bring that programming to those groups. The funding raised from Horizons goes directly towards those efforts. For anyone interested in these subjects, this would be an excellent opportunity for you to get involved.”

Guests will enjoy an evening of light food and drinks, networking, and the opportunity to support the museum’s mission of inspiring future generations through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). All proceeds from the event will go directly to funding outreach initiatives that bring hands-on STEM experiences to underserved youth.

Tickets for Horizons are available for purchase online through the museum’s website. For more information and to secure tickets, visit www.armstrongmuseum.org or contact the Armstrong Air & Space Museum at 419-738-8811.
