Auglaize County Library hosts "Storytime at the Gazebo"

MINSTER, Ohio (WLIO) - Kids and their parents enjoyed a morning of reading and fun at "Storytime at the Gazebo."

The Auglaize County Libraries hosted storytime Tuesday morning at the Minster Machine Centennial Park. The event included a book reading, songs, dances, and other fun activities for kids and their parents.

The event is part of a weekly storytime program held across numerous libraries to help improve reading comprehension and listening skills in children.

Event organizers said the event gives kids an opportunity to enjoy reading over the summer.

"Some kids aren't fortunate enough that they have the ability to read at home throughout the summer, so it's very nice that they can come here to the library where we offer reading programs such as this. We're very thankful that United Way has been able to sponsor this for us," said McKayla Schmiesing, branch assistant for the Minster Library.

Parents who want to learn more about what events the libraries are hosting can go to auglaizelibraries.org to view the events calendar, or they can pick up a booklet from their local library.
