Join fellow gardeners on Wednesday, May 14th at 6:00pm at the St. Marys Community Public Library to trade excess seedlings, seed packets, bulbs and plant divisions at the annual Gardeners’ Swap & Share program. Following at 7:00pm, a presentation will be given by Alicia Lensch of Forage Gardens to discuss “Landrace Seeds & Gardening.” Learn about selectively saving seeds from your most successful plants and practicing adaptive gardening for a more resilient garden. Extra plants, seeds & seedlings can also be brought to the St. Marys library, during library hours only, from May 12th through May 17th where a plant cart will be stationed near the entrance of the library. Interested persons are able to swap or share potted seedlings or gardening supplies on this cart for the entire week. It’s a great way to expand your garden or thin your plants by sharing extra items with those who would be interested in having them. Join us in celebrating the warmer temperatures and preparing for the upcoming gardening season! Gardeners of all ages are welcome to participate in this free program, sponsored by Heritage Trails Park District and St. Marys Community Public Library.
