LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Cenovus Lima Refinery continued a decades-long tradition of hosting a Christmas party for kids with developmental disabilities.
Students of the Children's Developmental Center of Lima were welcome to enjoy free food, activities, and meet plenty of Christmas characters like the Grinch and Santa at the 65th annual Christmas party. Until this year's event, the party has been drive-thru only since 2020. Many families have been looking forward to being able to meet in person again.
"They're always really appreciative to be able to come and have some holiday fun and to get a nice gift from our special guest. And just for us to be able to see, we have not only our current students, but students from the last couple of years coming. So for us, for our staff, it's a great way for us to be able to touch base and stay in touch with those families that we maybe don't get to see every day anymore," said Elisha Reineke, the executive director of the Children's Developmental Center.
The party was both funded by Cenovus, and the room was set up by their associates.
