City of Lima's human resources director announces resignation

The City of Lima is now looking for a new human resources director after the mayor receives a letter of resignation.

Mayor David Berger announcing at his weekly briefing that human resource director, Vince Ozier, will be leaving the city effective January 4, 2019, to enter the private sector. Ozier has been a part of the Berger administration for 15 years. He worked with the city's five unions, the civil service process, and more than 400 employees. Berger says Ozier was a champion for employee development, fairness, diversity, and inclusion. The city will launch a nationwide search for his replacement.

"We know the market is pretty dynamic right now, lots of people have, there's lots of openings in a variety of fields so we will obviously be interested in the quality of the applications that we will get in the coming weeks," said Mayor David Berger.

Berger says the chief of staff, Sharetta Smith, will assume the responsibilities of interim human resources director until a replacement can be found.
