City of St. Marys Ready to Take on Big Projects in 2017

St. Marys City Council met for their last meeting of the year.

The 2017 budget is now set, ready to take on several large projects in the coming year. The City of St. Marys just finished up the automated meter project as they are still working on the rebuild of the electrical grid. Mike Burkholder will be coming on as the new Industrial and Community Development Manager for the city and plans are in the works right now to add a new water treatment plant, breaking ground early summer.

The Mayor said the canal has had several algal blooms, making the canal give off a foul smell causing several downtown businesses to suffer. He said the canal will be one of the city's main priorities.
