Armed Robbery generic

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Lima Police Department is investigating an armed robbery where medication and other items were stolen.

A 44-year-old man called authorities to report that he had been robbed at an apartment complex located at 656 W. Spring St. The victim stated that on Feb. 5, 2025, at about 6:30 p.m., he dropped an acquaintance off at the apartment building and entered an unknown apartment.

While inside, the victim said the white male acquaintance he had given a ride asked for some of his prescription medication. When the victim refused, the man allegedly pulled out a firearm and demanded his belongings, including the medication. The victim was forced to hand over his cash and medication before fleeing from the building and returning home.

The victim told police he did not report the incident immediately because he was unfamiliar with Lima and did not own a cellphone to call 911.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Steve Stechschulte at (419) 812-0059 or Crime Stoppers at (419) 229-STOP. Tips can also be submitted via the Lima Police Department’s Facebook page.
