A new scholarship is on the way at Ohio State Lima that honors the legacy of one local woman in social work. Beginning Autumn 2023, OSU Lima will offer students the Phyllis Neff Social Work Scholarship. The scholarship was created by Phyllis Neff's daughters, Rachel and Sarah Neff, to remember the everlasting impact their mother made to Lima in her 32-year career at Crime Victim Services.
19-year-old Johnathon Miller pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary, felonious assault, theft, and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle. Van Wert police say that on May 9th of 2022, an armed burglary took place at a home in the 300 block of Tyler Street. Two people were in the home at the time. The suspects had a gun and allegedly beat one of the victims with it.
According to the affidavit, there were at least two victims the priest met while he was in the seminary, both minors at a Catholic school in Toledo. The alleged incidents started in 1999 and went on until 2020. Court documents say the victims had drug problems that Zacharias exploited for sexual favors over 20 years. He was arrested by FBI agents while he was serving in Findlay in August of 2020.
