LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Crime Victim Services is ensuring area residents are aware of all available resources for National Crime Victims' Rights Week.

The theme for this year was "How Would You Help," and Crime Victim Services promoted this theme by hosting an agency wide open house Tuesday evening in Lima. From the court advocacy and relationship violence programs to the Court Appointed Special Advocate, Crime Victim Services' goal is to educate residents on these resources should they become a crime victim.

"We never want a victim of crime to feel like they are being left out or feel like their voice isn't being heard, so here, we are trying to really meet our victims and survivors where they're at, especially with the trauma-focused lens really showing up for victims of crime, especially in court and just in daily life.... helping them get connected to resources and just making sure their voice is heard throughout the whole process," says Erica Hageman-Brinkman, Court Victim Advocate, Crime Victim Services.
Officials with the agency say they will continue to honor National Crime Victims' Rights Week through social media and outreach.
