Earlier in March, two Lima teens were involved in a fatal shooting. One of them succumbed to his injuries. The other one is now wanted for questioning.
16-year-old Albert McDowell, III is no where to be found since March 7th. That night, 19-year-old Daveon Petaway was fatally shot.
Now, Crimestoppers is offering $1,000, their highest reward, for information that will lead to the arrest of McDowell..
"There is people out there who know his location, know where he is at, know how we can find him, and we are hoping that this will help to encourage them to come forward," said Lima police chief Kevin Martin.
Crimestoppers say no names are necessary, the caller will be a given a code, which they will then use to collect their reward at a local bank.
Officials say what makes this case especially difficult is that the two parties involved. were only teenagers.
"This was a pretty heinous crime, a young man's life was taken away from him before he had a chance to really see what's out there, and then of course, the young man who did the shooting, his life just ended too," said Marle Millers, Board President of Lima/Allen County Crimestoppers.
McDowell is also a suspect in the fatal shooting of Petaway's brother, Khylil Florence, in January of last year.
"This type of violence will not be tolerated," Chief Martin said.
Officials say any tips, even if something small, could help in their investigation.
