The Lima Police Department reports that 53-year-old Sam McLaurin was found dead in the driveway at 420 South Baxter Street. The cause of death was from gunshot wounds. A call came in of shots fired around 11:30 last night, followed by another call of a man down.

Officers were called out to the 700 block of Weadock Avenue just after midnight for reports of a shooting. They found Mykel Thompson suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. He was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita's for treatment. Just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a call of shots fired. When they got to the complex, they found one person who had a head injury from a bullet. The victim was taken to Mercy Health with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies found a loaded handgun and three vehicles were also hit by gunshots. Detectives are looking for a black male, who is around 5’10” tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He was last seen running from the area on foot.

Crime stopper and the Lima Police Department are still looking for leads in a summer shooting. Crime stoppers is offering a reward for tips that lead to the arrest of the person or people responsible for the shooting of Cory Clair on August 13th.   According to Lima Police detectives, Clair was ambushed from the bushes outside of a home in the 1300 block of Chestnut Street.   Clair suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.  Crime stoppers is urging for anybody with information into the shooting to call them.   Tips can be made anonymously by calling 419-229-7867

Lima police are investigating a shooting at 420 North Charles Street around 9:30 Friday night. Both of the victims were located in two different spots in the area when reports were called into first responders. It's not clear if the two men shot each other or if they were shot by the same person. Very few details have been released at this time as police continue to investigate. We'll have more information when it's available.

32-year-old Charles Brown appeared in Paulding County Municipal Court Wednesday morning, and was charged with felonious assault and using weapons while intoxicated. His bond was set at $50,000. He was arrested after being accused of shooting 37-year-old Dustin Dobbelaere outside of an Oakwood bar in the early morning hours of September 6th. Dobbelaere is currently in Parkview Hospital and his condition is unknown.

According to detectives, officers were called out to the 100 block of South Perry Street for reports of shots fired, plus they were also called to the intersection of Perry and North Streets for a rollover crash about the same time. In the crash, they found 25-year-old Davion Latson with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His father 45-year-old Micheal Latson was also in the vehicle and was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The Lima Police Department states that officers responded to 1349 Chestnut on August 13th at 12:36 A.M, where they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 43-year-old Cory Clair of Lima. Clair was transported to a local hospital. He is currently listed in serious but stable condition.
