UPDATE:  Lima Police arrested an individual in connection with the deadly shooting at a family gathering Friday night.

The police served a search warrant at a home on Flanders Avenue Saturday afternoon. They say they have arrested an individual in connection with the homicide of Damariante Dillingham. This story is developing, and we will update this story when more information is released. 

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Lima Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at a party and left one man dead. Damariante Dillingham, 30, died from a gunshot wound sustained in an incident that happened in the 800 block of State Street just after 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Detectives said a family gathering was taking place when shots were fired. Dillingham was taken to Saint Rita’s, where he died from his injuries.  Investigators spoke to several witnesses at the party and are continuing to gather information about what led up to the shooting.

On July 11th 2025 at approximately 7:40pm officers responded to the 800 block of State Street for a family gathering where shots were fired.  Upon their arrival officers found Damariante Dillingham (age 30) suffering from a gunshot wound.  Mr. Dillingham was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center and succumbed to his injuries.  

Detectives spoke to several witnesses at the scene and are continuing to gather information about what led up to this incident at this time.
