LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Mercy Health talked with the community about supporting children's mental well-being and recognizing the challenges that come to their wellness.

Pediatric psychologist Tyanna Snider, who works with Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, held a virtual talk about recognizing the factors that impact children's mental health. Snider and Mercy Health psychologist Thomas Hull provided local mental health resources for children and teens. Hull said providing resources and being educated about children's well-being is crucial for their development.

"There's a high stress level right now, and it will probably continue to be there in the future. It's a lonely time in the sense of child development," said Hull.

"Children a lot of times are reaching out to friends and other people when they should be reaching towards us (the adults). Today, we're going to talk about services that we offer here at Mercy Health and St. Rita's Psychology for counseling, assessment and programs like that."

Hull said Mercy Health offers neuropsychological testing for different mental health issues, and that it is working on expanding its services for children.Â
