FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) — The investigation continues into a fatal officer-involved shooting in Findlay Monday afternoon.

Findlay police say Holden Smith, 37, was killed in the incident.

Just after 1 p.m., officers had earlier received a call that Smith was in Room 214 at the Rodeway Inn on Broad Avenue, had a gun and was threatening to hurt himself.

Officers say they found Smith in the parking lot outside the room, waving and pointing the gun.

Officials say officers tried to talk him down, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

Smith allegedly raised the gun and was shot and killed by a single round fired by an officer.
