A man is in the hospital after a crash this afternoon.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, just after 1 p.m., a car was headed southbound on State Route 115 near Tudor Road. According to law enforcement, the driver veered off the right side of the road before crossing the roadway completely and turned over several times. The vehicle finally coming to a rest upside down in a field. The car then caught fire. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was transported to Mercy Health St. Rita's with minor injuries. Troopers believe that distraction may have played a part in this accident. A problem that they say is common at this intersection.
"In this particular area we’ve had three crashes of significance in the same area over the past few months; we want to remind people to make sure you’re paying attention to your surroundings, pay attention to the roadway, and make sure that you get to and from your destination safely," said Lt. Tim Grigsby with the OSHP Lima Post.
The crash is still under investigation.
