A former Auglaize County deputy was sentenced for a 2017 incident.
33-year-old Brian Vernon was sentenced to ten days in county jail. The judge in Vernon's case ordered that he may serve the ten days as work release. Vernon was facing one count of assault and sexual imposition, both misdemeanors. The sexual imposition charge was dropped and Vernon pleaded no contest to the assault charge. The incident took place the night of December 9, 2017. He was off duty and it did not happen on Auglaize County property according to Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon.
Vernon has already resigned from his position as a deputy back in March.
