ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima and Allen County continue to rank high nationally for economic development.
Site Selection magazine reported that Lima/Allen County tied for fourth in the nation in 2025 for projects that either added 20,000 square feet to a facility, added 20 new employees, or made at least a $1 million capital investment. Allen County had 13 qualifying projects last year, reflecting that companies looking to expand see the area as ready for investment.
“Well, the publication, Site Selection Magazine, has over 40,000 subscribers, and they're all C level individuals (CEO, COO, CFO, ect.). And so, what that does for us, it really puts us in in the development world. So, not only do they see Ohio is ranked number 3 for development projects, now they see Lima Allen County actually being tied for 4th place for the number of projects. 2026 is really teed up for more development, more projects, and we look forward to it,” said Cindy Leis, president of Allen Economic Development Group.
Some of the projects that helped earn the ranking last year include expansions at Procter & Gamble, Novus Foods, and Vanamatic.
