"Youth orchestra presents a different kind of musical experience for a lot of the kids who are involved with band, and then for a lot of the kids who are involved with strings, there's not really an ensemble around here to play with unless you're from Lima, Bluffton, or Findlay," says Joseph MacBenn, Director of the Lima Area Youth Orchestra.

"Aspect of community outreach, you know. Our children's concert, for example, is a great opportunity for a lot of schools to show their students the world of music," says Carson Huber, a senior member of Lima Area Youth Orchestra.

The director adds that applications for the upcoming season of the Lima Area Youth Orchestra are available on their website.
