A Lima man gets sentenced to jail time for beating up a clerk at a gas station.
42-year-old Terrance James was sentenced to 90 days in jail plus 3 years probation on the charge of assault. According to court records, James was at the Certified Gas Station on S. Pine St. in December of 2021. James said that he became angry after the clerk allegedly called him a name. He then kicked open the door to the area that the clerk was in and started hitting him. The clerk suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. James will have to go to anger management class as part of his sentence.
