The former Wapakoneta mayor has reported to jail to serve the sentencing for the misdemeanor charges he was found guilty of in 2022. According to jail records, 64-year-old Tom Stinebaugh was booked in the Auglaize County Jail on Wednesday to serve six months for being found guilty of three counts of conflict of interest. Earlier this month, the Third District Court of Appeals vacated his trial convictions on the felony charges of unlawful interest in a public contract and theft in office. That also removed the 18 months of prison time he was sentenced to following his trial.

Last year, Hall was going to get transported to the Allen County Jail from the Lima Municipal Court, when she ran from a correction officer. A Lima police detective saw a woman running in jail clothing past a window at the police department. He pursued and caught her hiding in bushes outside of Rhodes Borra enter. Hall was originally arrested because of a warrant out of Kentucky for promoting prostitution.

As the Auglaize County Commissioners wrap up 2022, they are looking a head to starting some projects that they have been working on this past year.   Thanks to a $900,000 grant from the State of Ohio, Auglaize County was able to remove some blighted structures so the land can be used for redevelopment.  Plus, they have been getting some things in place to start a renovation project at the county jail.  The roughly $5 million project will add more bed space to the facility, especially on the women’s side of the jail.

The Delphos Police Department received 339 calls for service in the month of October, bringing the total to 3084 calls for the year. The following is a partial list of calls handled for the month of October and do not include traffic citations, crashes, ect. The police department has a large number of bicycles that have been located or turned in. If you are missing a bicycle, please come to the police department and describe the bicycle you are missing, and we will get it back to you.

HDR Design Firm evaluated the facility last year and confirmed that expansion is needed for their female unit along with the medical and mental health area. At this time the jail only has one female block that holds 11 inmates, leaving the intake area as the only option to house additional females. Auglaize County Sheriff Mike Vorhees says expanding capacity within the existing footprint will help fulfill the current need and help corrections officers do their job better.

He was sentenced to six months in jail and five years of post release supervision. According to an indictment, the charges stem from May to June of 2021 and involved a victim between the ages of 13 and 16 years of age. The 27-year-old coached the New Knoxville boys basketball team last year but resigned in the summer for personal reasons.
