LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The trial date for Nicholas Stemen has been changed from March 11 to June 10.
33-year-old Nicholas Stemen waived his right to a speedy trial. He pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, aggravated arson, involuntary manslaughter, and endangering children.
On Sept. 25, sheriff's deputies said he was spotted swerving and driving on a wheel rim. The car caught fire, and after it was extinguished, the body of his daughter, Lillyanna, was found in the back seat.
Stemen was able to get out of the vehicle unharmed. He remains in jail on a $1 million bond.
