ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A trial date has been set for a father who is facing charges for the death of his daughter in a car fire this fall.
A March 2025 trial date has been set for 33-year-old Nicholas Stemen after he waived his right to a speedy trial. He pleaded not guilty to the charges of murder, aggravated arson, involuntary manslaughter, and endangering children.

Back on September 25, 2024, sheriff's deputies say he was spotted swerving and driving on a wheel rim. The car caught fire, and after it was put out, the body of his daughter Lillyanna was found in the back seat. Stemen was able to get out of the vehicle unharmed. He remains in jail on a one million dollar bond.
