A Lima man charged with a fatal shooting at a Putnam County trucking company is set to face a jury next month. The trial for 26-year-old Konner Dunklee is set for February 4th through February 7, 2025. He's facing charges of aggravated murder and felonious assault.

November 24, 2024, Press Release from the Van Wert County Sheriff's Office: Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas M. Riggenbach announced that deputies are investigating the death of two people found in Ohio City. Sheriff Riggenbach stated that on 11/24/2024 at approximately 8:09 AM hours, his office received a call from an individual stating that a friend had confessed to killing his girlfriend and another man. The caller said the friend also said he was going to kill himself. The caller explained the friend had left and was no longer with the caller. A deputy responded to the caller's location to gather additional information while deputies continued working on the information the caller initially provided. Sheriff Riggenbach advised that deputies obtained additional information by talking to several different people and made entry to a home in Ohio City to check the welfare of the home resident. Once inside the house, deputies located a female and male subject who were both deceased as a result of gunshot wounds. Deputies secured the home and contacted the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to respond and assist in processing the crime scene.

Findlay Police say an officer-involved shooting occurred in the city during a foot pursuit by officers. Just before 6:30 Monday evening, Findlay Police were dispatched to Bernard Park on a report of 3 juveniles drinking alcoholic beverages. After officers arrived, a male juvenile suspect began to flee by foot, and an officer pursued him. During the chase, the juvenile fired a gunshot at the officer, and the officer returned fire hitting the male suspect.
A Lima man was sent to prison for 17 years for a fatal shooting in 2022. 20-year-old Takal Austin pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence last week. As part of the deal, the murder charges were dropped. But during sentencing, family members of the victim, 22-year-old Koby Bryant, said they would have liked to have seen Austin face a jury on those charges.

A one million dollar bond has been set for a Perry Township man who is facing a murder charge. 23-year-old Jacob Striff had a video arraignment in Lima Municipal Court on Thursday. Allen County deputies say that Striff shot and killed 41-year-old Jeffery Paxton Jr. in Striff's home on Charledon Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
