A Lima man pleaded not guilty to beating up a clerk at a gas station

42-year-old Terrance James was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury on one count of felonious assault.

According to court records, James was at the Certified gas station on South Pine Street in December when he became upset that the clerk was taking too long to help him. He allegedly kicked open the door to the area that the clerk was in and started hitting him. The clerk suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. James will have his first pretrial on the charge in March.
