The victim was under 13 years old at the time of the offenses. The charges stem from incidents that happened in December 2022. He is currently in the Auglaize County Jail, and his bond has been set at three million dollars. The case will be taken to the Auglaize County Grand Jury to see if additional charges will be filed.
According to the affidavit, there were at least two victims the priest met while he was in the seminary, both minors at a Catholic school in Toledo. The alleged incidents started in 1999 and went on until 2020. Court documents say the victims had drug problems that Zacharias exploited for sexual favors over 20 years. He was arrested by FBI agents while he was serving in Findlay in August of 2020.
A 40-year-old Shane Chilcoat of Celina pleaded guilty in Mercer County Common Pleas Court to sexual battery and pandering obscenity involving a minor charges. Chilcoat was arrested in September, after he was indicted on 19 charges including multiple counts each of rape, sexual battery, and gross sexual imposition.
Celina detectives investigated allegations from three separate underage victims.
Chilcoat was also labeled a Tier III Sex Offender and must register his address with the sheriff's office where he is living for the rest of his life.
A Celina man was sentenced to at least 13 years in prison for multiple child pornography charges. 46-year-old Brian Winner was facing 47 charges of pandering obscenity involving a minor, pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor, and possessing criminal tools. But after taking a plea deal, 29 of the charges were dropped. The judge sentenced him to a minimum of 13 years in prison to a maximum of 15 years. Winner was found guilty of similar charges back in 2017 and was sentenced to nearly two and a half years in prison back then. He is now labeled a Tier III sex offender and will have to register with the sheriff's office where he is living for the rest of his life.
52-year-old Darrell Bivens was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury on the charges of aggravated arson and felonious assault. The incident happened around October 21st, 2022, and according to Lima police, Bivens was arrested after he allegedly poured lighter fluid on his partner and lit the person on fire following a domestic dispute.
48-year-old Christine Steinke, a former clerk of the Wapakoneta Utilities Department, was charged by the Ohio Attorney General and Auglaize County Prosecutor on thirteen counts of tampering with records and two counts of theft in office. She appeared in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court, where she entered her plea of not guilty to all counts. Her current recognizance bond was also stayed.
A Lima woman arrested for allegedly trying to burn down a house with people inside, has her first court hearing on the charge. 29-year-old Markiesha Blackman is facing the charge of aggravated arson, a felony of the first degree. If her case gets bound over to Allen County Common Pleas Court and she is convicted of one count of aggravated arson, Blackman could face between 3 and 16 years in prison. Judge Tammie Hursh set Blackman's bond at $350,000. According to the Lima Police Department, on Tuesday November 22nd a fire was intentionally set at 125 west O'Connor. Four individuals were inside and were able to get out of the home when the fire started. After doing interviews, police arrested Blackman. The case is still under investigation. Blackman will have her preliminary hearing on December 1st.
The wife of a Celina man facing federal charges for child pornography and creating animal crush videos is facing charges of her own for animal abuse. According to the Mercer County Jail, 32-year-old Heather Vanwoert was indicted on a total of 12 counts on the charges of prohibition concerning companion animals and cruelty to animals. She is currently in the jail awaiting her initial appearance in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
