LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Ohio’s fourth district congressman says the United States needs to finish its mission in Iran as the war approaches the six-month mark.
Jim Jordan sat down with local members of the Ohio Association of Broadcasting to discuss local radio and television.
We asked Jordan about the ongoing war with Iran, which started in February with airstrikes from the United States and Israel to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

There have been brief periods of ceasefire, but attacks continue, especially around the Straits of Hormuz, which has hampered tankers and trade. Jordan says Iran should not have the power of a nuclear weapon.
“But, just to underscore how bad these people are. You know, my background is the sport of wrestling and in Iran wrestling is big. It's one of their big sports. I mean, they're good at it. They took one of their 19-year-old junior up-and-coming champs, one of the junior champion. And because he had protested against the government, they hung this guy publicly. That's how evil these people are. So, the president's right when he says we can't let them get a nuclear weapon, and I agree with that,” says Jordan.
Jordan says the House will be looking into Dr. Anthony Fauci and his recommendations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Former President Biden pardoned Fauci before he left office, so Jordan says pressing criminal charges will be tough.
“There were some of us, years ago, who were saying this guy's wrong. I mean, telling Americans you can't go to work, can't go to school, can't go to church, all the things that he pushed that the Biden administration then implemented. And I always remind folks, every single thing Fauci told us turned out to be false,” adds Jordan.
Last week, a Senate committee voted along party lines to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress for pleading the Fifth during a hearing more than 100 times.
