LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The Lima School Board swore in its first-ever student representative during its meeting Wednesday evening.
Angela Fronzaglia, a junior at Lima Senior High School, was selected by her peers to serve on the board. She was chosen from Superintendent Andre Rudolph’s advisory council, a group made up of students from every school building in the district. Rudolph said the council meets monthly and was created to give students a direct voice in district leadership and decision-making.
He added that Fronzaglia was the perfect fit to represent her peers across the district, citing her involvement in academics, soccer, the swim team and other extracurricular activities that give her a broad student perspective.
“Angela is extremely involved. And so whether it be sports, whether it be in the building, she’s just willing to talk to anybody, which is extremely important. So when I need to get a student perspective, I don’t want someone that has just given me a perspective of a particular crowd. I need a great variety of everybody. She’s somebody that can do that,” Rudolph said.
“I’ve been in Lima City Schools my whole life. All my sisters went here. Both my parents are teachers. I’ve grown up around the community and the culture, and I feel like I know a lot about it,” Fronzaglia said.
The board also inducted Sandy Monfort and Heather Rutz.
