LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Food and enjoying the outdoors are two things Ohio State Lima students got to enjoy Thursday afternoon.
Some students are on campus for the first time and are new to the college experience, so the picnic also serves as an easy way to meet new people and get a warm welcome to the college lifestyle.
The university welcomed students back to campus with a picnic and gorgeous weather to go with it. Students going to and from classes could stop by and get hot dogs, cookies, fresh apples, and a drink, as well as socialize with their fellow Buckeye classmates. "It's really, really special. This is something you're not really used to back in high school. To be honest, there's multiple new people that you've never even met, and you know it's just a really cool experience that you get to interact with others that you really don't know and some you may have known," said Enki White, OSU Lima freshman biology major and LCC graduate.
"It's been amazing so far, you know? The first week is almost wrapped up, and honestly, this has just been so much fun. I'm hoping it's like this throughout the whole year. OSU has been amazing hosting these events, and you know it's just been great," said Malachi Talbert, OSU Lima freshman biology major and LCC graduate.
Both White and Talbert worked at American Eagle in the Lima Mall this summer and earned scholarships for their freshman year at OSU Lima thanks to their hard work around social justice.
