LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Some pocket change and more goes a long way to help a local mission continue their work with helping others who may be down on their luck.
Our Daily Bread held a "Drop Your Change for Good" fundraiser at the Clocktower Plaza Saturday afternoon. There was face painting and a bouncy house for the kids and chicken dinners, hot dogs, and live music for everyone to enjoy. Our Daily Bread does not get any government funding. All the money they use for the soup kitchen and more comes from donations and grants. This is the 3rd year for their fundraiser and it keeps getting bigger each year.
“Yeah, it’s growing every year,” says Randy Kimpel, Director of Our Daily Bread. “The first year we were just in a parking lot at Westgate Lanes and it wasn’t big enough for us. So we moved out here and this year is bigger than last year and next year hopefully will be bigger than this year.”
Our Daily Bread serves a few thousand people each month with meals, clothing, and more. If you would like to help their mission, you can make donations on their website www.odbread.org.
