LIMA, OH (WLIO) -Â Well, it's time to fall back this weekend.

At 2 a.m. Sunday, we will be going back to Standard Time and moving the clock back one hour. Sleep medicine professionals say that an extra hour of sleep this weekend will help most wake up rested but that change in light could affect some people's sleep patterns. Doctors say you should practice good sleep hygiene.

"Preparing and going to sleep at a regular scheduled time, making the environment consistent for a good night's sleep. If need be have dark blackout curtains, have a little white noise in the background. Making the temperature of the environment conducive for a good night's sleep, if you're a person that's normally cold, make it warm, vice versa," said Sharon Steele, ANP at Lima Memorial Sleep Center.
Daylight savings time was first brought up by Benjamin Franklin in 1784. It was not formally used in the United States until 1918. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine supports public opposition to seasonal time changes.
