Local nonprofits and social service agencies are coming together to meet the needs of many people in the area. Hygiene products are items that people facing financial difficulties may give up to pay bills or get food. More than a half-dozen agencies are asking you for help to collect products like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and mouthwash. Their hope is to put together bags with hygiene items and information about services available in the region.

Sleep medicine professionals say that an extra hour of sleep this weekend will help most wake up rested but that change in "light" could affect some people's sleep patterns. Doctors say you should practice good sleep hygiene.

The SAFY Youth Drop-in Center, Activate Allen County, and the West Ohio Food Bank teamed up for a giveaway event. Activate Allen County gave away items like kites, plastic bats, and balls. The SAFY Youth Drop-in center gave out hygiene packets and food. The West Ohio Food Bank had boxes of food to give away. This is the second time they teamed up for a giveaway event and they are glad they can help families and teens in the area.
Regina Colwell Outreach Coordinator with Safy explains, “They can easily get these outreach bags and some flyers with quick information. References, phone numbers, resources, referral information, anything they need from SAFY Lima Behavioral Health and drop-in center or Activate Allen County or any other community partners that join us.”
Lima’s SAFY Youth Drop-in Center gave away 100 bags of free hygiene products for area teens on Saturday.
