Sara's Sweets made a splash to help one local organization Saturday afternoon.
The bakery put on Mermaid Day, complete with themed cookies, cupcakes, and other sweet treats for people to enjoy. Also part of the festivities was a dunk tank - all the proceeds from each throw went towards the Lima YMCA's swim lesson scholarships. Sara Anderson, the owner of Sara's Sweets, says that additionally helping out the YMCA on one of their special themed days seemed like a no-brainer.
"We had our first themed day back in February, we did a Unicorn Day, and it was wildly successful - so at that point we decided that we would love to partner with local organizations when we offer a theme day, so that we can give back to our community as well and also people love supporting causes that they see in their community," said Anderson.
Kids dressed up as mermaids got a special treat - they could pick one free bakery item.
