ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - State Auditor Keith Faber was in Lima on Friday to speak at the Allen County Republican Luncheon.
He shared the role of the auditor and his staff to place checks and balances on state and local governments to be more efficient, effective, and transparent. Most recently, they released a report on Medicaid that showed more than 100,000 people registered in Ohio as well as up to eight other states, costing Ohioans nearly a billion dollars.
"For the most part, the people who took the billion dollars are the Medicaid-managed care organizations, and this is something the state ought to be going after, and saying, look, you guys have a national database that you can bounce and see if people are signed up in multiple states. The state pays Medicaid managed care organizations per member per month fee," said Keith Faber, Ohio State Auditor.
Faber says their best source of investigation is tips. If you see something going on in the government that shouldn't be, contact his office.
