A two-alarm house fire in Bath Township overnight heavily damaged a two-car garage.
Just before 1AM, the Bath Township Fire Department was called out to 510 S. Cool Street for a garage fire. The homeowner was alerted by a passerby of the fire and escaped with no injuries. It took firefighters around 20 minutes to contain the blaze. The Lima Fire Department, Perry Township, Lafayette Jackson Township, and Westminster were called in for mutual aid and were on the scene for three hours. Investigators believe the fire started in a shed behind the house which spread to the garage. The damage estimate is set around $75,000.00. The homeowner reports that the property is insured.
