Two are in custody after a Findlay Police pursuit just before noon after an officer attempted to pull over a potentially stolen vehicle.
Officers were dispatched to the area of the Lowe's Home Improvement store in Findlay and after a patrol of the area the vehicle was spotted. Police attempted to make a traffic stop and the vehicle fled eastbound on US 224.
The vehicle tried to turn left on to Township Road 246 but veered off and into a field, where it continued driving northeast. They eventually stopped at a wooded area behind 17662 US 224 E where Matthew Holman, 41, and Victor Vawter, 41, both of Findlay, fled on foot.
The driver was caught shortly after and the passenger was located sometime later hiding in a pine tree on a residential property after a search by the police, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Hanco EMS took the passenger to Blanchard Valley Hospital for exposure injuries from the extreme cold.
Not only was the vehicle confirmed to be stolen out of Toledo, but the driver had warrants out for his arrest and it was found he had committed a theft at the Findlay Menards just before the pursuit.
