Mercy Health has also committed to providing medical services through the new facility.

YWCA Van Wert Announces New Partnership with New Building

The new $14 million facility will be built on land donated by the Marsh Foundation, located directly across the street from the Marsh Foundation’s site.

While the YWCA’s current building is 109 years old and holds historic significance, the organization said the new structure will be a cost-effective way to serve Van Wert County for the next century.

“It’s going to be more suitable for our residents, for our youth programming, and in providing a more dignified space for our residents to heal and then expanding on our youth programming for our community is just something that we are beyond excited about to offer,” said Kimberly Laudick, president and CEO of YWCA Van Wert County.

Mercy Health will offer family medicine services within the new building, along with specialty care and behavioral health services for the Van Wert community.

“The YWCA has been such an impactful organization and Van Wert for so many decades. They have a great heritage of serving the community well and taking care of some of those who are really underserved and greatly in need. We believe that we serve that same mission, and so we feel like a partnership with the YWCA is just a perfect marriage in order to make sure that we continue to provide resources for Van Wert that are super important,” said Dr. Matt Owens, chief clinical officer for Mercy Health – Lima.
