LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A new era in broadcast television begins today in West Central Ohio.
Gray Media, based in Atlanta, has finalized the deal announced last August to purchase Block Communications' broadcast division. As previously announced, the sale price for the stations in Lima, Louisville, and Decatur, Illnois is $80 million. This purchase, and others, brings Gray's television portfolio to 120 markets reaching 37% of US televison households. Block Communications took ownership of WLIO in 1972.
New ownership will not change our mission of bringing you local news, weather and sports, and national programming on our four networks, and we are excited about the new opportunities Gray Media brings under its ownership umbrella.
