The season of giving came early this year at Bluffton University in the sum of $1 million.
The gift came during the launch of Simply Innovate 2016 Campaign luncheon, by which Dr. James Harder says is a gift truly transformational. Faculty and staff gathered on the Centennial Lawn Wednesday afternoon as Dr. James Harder took the platform to discuss campaign goals and plans to open a new science center in 2019. Towards the end of the ceremony, an announcement was made that Allen County businessman, Greg and his wife Donna Wannemacher will donate $1 million to the campaign. Wannemacher grew up in Delphos and attended Bluffton University and graduated in 1977. He is the owner of Wannemacher Total Logistics in Lima and was a former football alumni.
So far, the university has raised a total of $9 million towards the $26 million goal.
