Weekend hiring event successfully draws job seekers to Mercy Health-St. Rita's

People went from job seekers to employees at a hiring event Mercy Health Saint Rita’s Saturday afternoon. The medical center is looking for people to fill positions at just about every level, from nursing, and lab workers, to dietary and medical assistants. The medical center noticed on weekday career fairs they didn’t get a big of turnout, but by holding it on a Saturday they got a long line of people looking for jobs. People were able not only to submit a resume but also get interviewed by a manager, and receive a job offer all the same day.

“We want to make hires on the spot,” says Joe Reardon, HR Mercy Health-St. Rita’s. “If you bring in a resume, we want you to walk out with an offer if you are fully qualified for the position, we want you in our hospital here. Clearly it is a war for talent out there now. Any place you go has hiring signs right now. It’s a great work environment here and we want people just as much as anybody else.”
