Just before 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, first responders were called to the intersection of Elm Street and Seriff Road. It is unknown how many people were hurt in the crash, but troopers say there were significant injuries to some of the people that were transported to the hospital. A power pole near the intersection was damaged during the incident. The cause of the crash has not been released.

The Allen County Board of Elections reports that they have sent over 5,000 absentee ballots this election cycle and have received a little more than 4,000 back. So far as of Friday afternoon, 3,732 residents have cast their votes in person. Those who still have to turn in their absentee ballot must do so quickly in order to have their votes counted.

Only months after opening their second adult day services location, Goodwill Easter Seals Miami County is adding additional services. The agency is now offering an afternoon adult support program. It will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a variety of activities that will include transportation. Anyone that receives from the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is eligible and officials say the program is beneficial to participants.

When the fire department arrived, they saw the fire had consumed the porch and was starting to spread to other parts of the house. Fort Jennings and American Township Fire Departments were called in to assist. The house is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is considered to be accidental and remains under investigation.
The Lima Fire Department was called to a house fire at 1011 West Elm. Heavy smoke was seen coming from the back of the house when they arrived on the scene. Fire officials on the scene say they don’t know the cause of the fire but they do believe it started in the kitchen and worked its way up the wall to the second story of the home.
